When giving a presentation, it’s important not to rush through your material. A judicious use of pauses during your presentation will help you be a more effective speaker.

the audience time to take in and understand what you’ve just said
3.
Help
you eliminate filler words like “um” and “ah” that occur when your brain hasn’t
caught up with your mouth
4.
Allow
you to achieve a dramatic effect, for example, when you’re telling a story, or
to catch the audience’s attention right before you deliver your key message
So the next time you give a presentation, make sure you take the time to stop occasionally.
