Gilda to Present at Keep America Beautiful 2019 National Conference

I am honored to be presenting 2 sessions at the Keep America Beautiful 2019 National Conference, to be held February 6-8, 2019 at The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Baltimore, Maryland

The Improvisational Leader (Feb. 7, 10:30-11:30 AM)
To be successful, you have to trust yourself in the moment and be able to adapt effectively to change, whether you’re dealing with your team, leading a strategic initiative or interacting with stakeholders. In this interactive session, you will focus on how to sharpen your leadership skills using the lens of improv -- learning core improv principles such as being present, listening, and "yes and," while exploring how these concepts can be applied to your leadership and communications. The result is new skills and behaviors that can be immediately utilized in the workplace. No prior experience with improvisation or performance is necessary or presumed. All are welcome and can benefit from this fun session, from those who consider themselves shy and introverted to outgoing extraverts!

How to Keep Your Volunteers & Board Members Engaged (Feb. 7, 2:45-3:45 PM)
Sometimes the real challenge is not just recruiting volunteers – but, rather, keeping them engaged, happy, eager to bring along friends in the process, and coming back for more. Successful volunteer engagement is an ongoing and collaborative process. This session will provide tools and strategies to allow your affiliate to connect with the volunteer the minute they walk through your door and continue through the lifespan of their engagement with your organization. During this session, attendees will learn how to: identify key elements of the volunteer position so you can set expectations and ensure the person is the right fit for your affiliate; create thoughtful and carefully planned onboarding so volunteers are connected to your mission on day one; develop a volunteer engagement strategy; and overcome challenges to keeping them engaged and committed.
