Communication Key to Managing Business Disruption - Ivey Research

Researchers at Ivey Business School have studied the prevalence and impact of disruption on businesses and what people need to do in order to manage this disruption. 

In their recent article, "Disruption Head On," they highlighted what successful organizations are doing to handle the disruption and even make it a competitive advantage. For example: 


  • Take communications very seriously ...For example, business schools should help individuals understand that the kinds of rapid pivots that they’re going to have to make as leaders will create the risk of disengagement—people won’t always get it!—which means, in turn, that they will have to be extraordinary, relentless communicators.
